Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between jose aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimmy Hewston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, jose aldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dimmy Hewston!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
aldo tries to clinch there but Hewston circles away.
Hewston looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hewston tries for a takedown but aldo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
aldo wants to clinch up but Hewston keeps it at a distance.
Hewston closes this distance looking for a takedown but aldo circles away.
jose aldo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dimmy Hewston.
A looping hook to the body misses from aldo. Hewston does a little dance to reset his feet.
aldo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

aldo stands and steps away. Hewston gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hewston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hewston misses with a takedown
and aldo counters with a shoot takedown. Hewston fights it but they end up in guard.

Hewston controls aldo momentarily but aldo frees himself.

Hewston is looking for a triangle but aldo pushes his legs off easily.

aldo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
aldo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
aldo wants to control from the top but Hewston keeps moving.
aldo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hewston misses with a takedown attempt
so aldo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
aldo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hewston's guard.
aldo is breathing heavily.

aldo trying to control but Hewston is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hewston is looking to sinch up a triangle. aldo throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hewston's body to avoid the submission. Hewston has instead reached around aldo's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hewston arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
