Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oscar Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, The Doctor!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sanchez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sanchez looks to land a combination but Doctor avoids it well.

Sanchez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sanchez has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Sanchez raining down shots from the mount!
Sanchez throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Sanchez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doctor is squirming around, avoiding Sanchez's attempts to control the action.
Doctor controls the position.

Sanchez is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Doctor to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Doctor shrugs it off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Doctor controls the position.
Sanchez avoids the attempt from Doctor to control.
Sanchez prevents Doctor from getting the reversal.
Sanchez trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Doctor is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Poor strikes thrown by Sanchez there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Sanchez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Doctor is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sanchez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Doctor has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Sanchez won't let Doctor get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sanchez misses with a head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doctor is looking to clinch but Sanchez is avoiding it.
Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Doctor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Doctor steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sanchez.
Doctor misses with a low kick.
Doctor looks to clinch

and Sanchez counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Sanchez missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Sanchez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Doctor's head.
Sanchez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez throwing shots but Doctor is blocking nicely.
Sanchez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Sanchez frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Sanchez working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Doctor looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Sanchez! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Oscar Sanchez!
