The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paine tries to sprawl but Chan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paine gets back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Paine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chan is one step ahead there.
Chan trying to control but Paine is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paine is on top in guard.
Paine is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Paine prevents Chan from getting back to his feet.
Paine throwing strikes from guard but Chan blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Paine is posturing up here but Chan has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Paine tries to roll out but it's too tight and Paine has to tap! Slick submission there by Chan!
