The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt misses with a takedown attempt

and Cadell counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Holt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cadell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Holt is looking to get back to is feet but Cadell passes into side control.
Holt looks to move to half guard but instead Cadell has passed into mount! Damn!
Cadell cracks Holt with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Cadell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Holt manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Cadell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cadell decides to stand up, so the ref orders Holt to his feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cadell.

Cadell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cadell is staying tight to Holt's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Cadell gets to mount! Holt was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Holt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cadell throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Holt is looking to improve his position but Cadell isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Holt tries to hold on but Cadell pushes him away.

Cadell wants to control the pace but Holt is squirming around nicely.
Cadell avoids the attempt from Holt to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
