PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urinus Limberdinkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Limberdinkle is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by BLUNT- The Iron Maiden. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Martin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Urinus Limberdinkle!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Limberdinkle is predictable there
and Limberdinkle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Martin digs a good hook to Limberdinkle's body.
Limberdinkle uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Martin.
Martin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A head kick misses from Limberdinkle.
Martin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Limberdinkle throws a quick inside leg kick.
Limberdinkle tries to land a body kick
and Martin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Limberdinkle takes a kick to the side of the head.
Martin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Martin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Limberdinkle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Limberdinkle feints and then cracks Martin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Martin down.
Martin lands with a hook. Limberdinkle tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Limberdinkle wants to slow Martin down by chopping away at his legs.
Limberdinkle throws a half hearted mid kick.
Martin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Limberdinkle gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Limberdinkle lands with a kick to the temple. Martin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Urinus Limberdinkle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Limberdinkle gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Martin.
Limberdinkle keeps the fight on the outside.
Martin dips to his left and cracks Limberdinkle with an uppercut!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Martin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Limberdinkle quickly recovers to half guard.
Limberdinkle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Martin is working away from the top position though.

Martin prevents Limberdinkle from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Martin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Martin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Limberdinkle looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Limberdinkle has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Martin finds it's way round the side to connect with Limberdinkle's head.

Limberdinkle walks into a jab.
Martin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Martin lands with a thumping leg kick.
Martin lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Limberdinkle dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Martin. That did some damage!

Limberdinkle throws a lazy head kick
and Martin counters with a left to the body.
Limberdinkle slips under a jab from Martin.

Limberdinkle on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Limberdinkle throws a sloppy head kick and Martin moves out of range easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Limberdinkle shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

and Martin counters with a three punch combo that has Limberdinkle backing up. Limberdinkle nods at Martin to acknowledge the strikes.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Limberdinkle throws a sloppy strike and Martin has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Limberdinkle is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Martin!
