Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muhammed Lawal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell misses with a body kick.
Lawal stuffs the takedown.
Liddell looks to land a left hand but Lawal moved out of range nicely.
Liddell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lawal misses with a two punch combination.

Lawal decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Liddell trying to hold on to Lawal's head to control him but Lawal postures up.

Lawal postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Liddell is trying to control the position but Lawal postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Liddell drops back looking for a leg! Lawal is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lawal manages to kick Liddell off! Liddell jumps back into Lawal's guard.

Lawal is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Liddell wants to pass the guard but Lawal is keeping the position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Liddell manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lawal's best efforts.
Liddell is looking to control Lawal's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Liddell avoid being mounted?

Lawal is trying to work for a kimura but Liddell is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lawal drops an elbow to the side of Liddell's head.
Liddell is looking to improve his position.
Lawal thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Liddell's head.

Liddell is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Liddell regains full guard. Nicely done.
Lawal prevents Liddell from getting back to his feet.
Lawal slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Liddell.
Lawal is thwarting Liddell's attempts to control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Liddell looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Liddell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lawal is working away from the top position though.

Liddell is looking to stand up but Lawal isn't so interested in that idea.

A close second round but Chuck Liddell will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Liddell has his takedown stuffed
and Lawal counters with a left and a right that stings Liddell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Liddell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lawal's guard.
Liddell throws a strike but Lawal rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Liddell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lawal won't allow Liddell to get back to his feet.
Lawal throws a big right hand that misses.
Lawal stops Liddell from standing up.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Liddell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lawal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
