The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cloete closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hole quickly recovers to half guard.
Cloete thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hole to regain full guard.
Hole wants to stand but Cloete is controlling the position.
Hole looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cloete is one step ahead there.
Cloete tries to free his leg and advance position but Hole is retaining full guard.
Cloete advances to half guard.
Cloete tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hole knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Hole moves to clinch but Cloete breaks away

so Cloete counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cloete stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hole swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cloete forces his way into half guard.
Hole is looking to get back to full guard here but Cloete has managed to pass to side control instead.
Cloete trying to control the action but Hole is working from the bottom.

Hole stops Cloete from passing to mount.

Hole is not content to let Cloete control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cloete looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Cloete lands a nice forearm strike.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cloete tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hole wants to get back to his feet.

Hole is looking to stand up but Cloete won't let him.

Cloete is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cloete manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hole manages to get himself to full guard.

Werner Cloete overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hole wants to get up but he can't break Cloete's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cloete working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hole doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cloete is tightening it up a little... Hole has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hole reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hole taps out! nice BJJ there by Cloete!
