Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between kurt pike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alonzo Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for kurt pike has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
pike fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wright tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but pike swivels and escapes.

Wright tries to sprawl but pike drives through with a takedown into half guard.
pike thows a huge punch but Wright dodges it nicely.
pike seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
pike wants to free his trapped foot but Wright is holding on for dear life with his legs.
pike takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
pike is looking to take a break and control but Wright is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wright looks like he's trying to stand up.
pike takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wright can do anything to dispel that myth.

pike misses with a takedown attempt

and Wright counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wright.

pike is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wright is controlling him.
Wright throws a big right hand that misses.
Wright postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Wright has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

pike is breathing heavily.
Wright works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
pike wants to get back to his feet but Wright drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wright cracks pike with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Wright is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. pike is trying to escape and Wright transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and pike is forced to tap! Nice work there by Wright! Very nice indeed!
