Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Borgstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mana Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mana Sato has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nate Borgstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mana Sato!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Borgstein as he avoids it easily.
Borgstein is looking to clinch.
Borgstein wants to clinch

and Sato counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Borgstein tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Sato manages to move to mount!
Borgstein slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Borgstein knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sato on the ground.

Sato decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Borgstein fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Borgstein makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Borgstein throws an elbow but it misses.
Borgstein gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Sato works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Borgstein wants to control but Sato is keeping busy.
Sato seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sato has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Borgstein tries to kick Sato off in order to stand up. Sato Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Sato stands up and beckons Borgstein to his feet.

Sato throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Borgstein tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sato is in Borgstein's guard.
Borgstein is breathing heavily.
Sato throws and elbow that misses. Borgstein uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sato's guard. Nice move by Borgstein!

Sato wants to sweep here but Borgstein controlling him for the moment.

Sato wants to get back to his feet but Borgstein is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sato gets to his feet. Borgstein looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Borgstein closes the distance and clinches.
Sato goes for a takedown in the clinch but Borgstein prevents it.
Nate Borgstein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mana Sato.
Borgstein makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Borgstein is trying to break free.
Sato can't get the takedown.

Borgstein breaks from the clinch.
Sato avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Borgstein tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sato swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sato drives through with a takedown into guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Borgstein is staying active underneath Sato, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borgstein wants to clinch up but Sato keeps it at a distance.

Sato closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sato wants to control but Borgstein is keeping him busy.

Sato stands up and beckons Borgstein to his feet.
Borgstein scores with a three punch combo!

Borgstein rushes Sato and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Borgstein pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sato closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sato lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Borgstein wants to stand and escape but Sato is having none of it.

Borgstein looking for a sweep. Not yet Borgstein, not yet.
Sato landing some decent shots from guard.
Sato scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Sato won't allow Borgstein to sweep him here.
Sato distracts Borgstein with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Sato wants to control from the top but Borgstein keeps moving.

Sato gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Sato decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sato connects with a nice short shot to Borgstein's temple.
Sato is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Sato lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Borgstein hang on?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sato can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Borgstein is looking to escape.
