Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Doctor Phil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Sarian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doctor Phil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Sarian!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Phil. No joy for Sarian on that attempt.
Sarian fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Phil lands a jab-cross combination.

Phil instigates a clinch.
Sarian goes for a takedown in the clinch but Phil prevents it.
Doctor Phil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Sarian.
A short body shot lands from Phil as the two fighters clinch.
Sarian wants a takedown.
Phil has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sarian avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Phil breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Phil lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Sarian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Phil lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sarian backs up against the cage.


It looks like Robert Sarian has been cut.
Phil fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A head kick misses from Sarian.
Phil throws a good cross that connects.
Sarian stuffs the takedown attempt from Phil. Phil gets slowly back to his feet.
Phil scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Phil moves into the clinch.
Sarian is trying to break the clinch but Phil has him pressed against the cage.
Sarian tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Phil's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sarian shoots in for a takedown but Phil shows good takedown defense.
Sarian has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Phil.

Phil rushes Sarian and presses him up against the cage.
A body shot lands from Phil.
Phil has Sarian pushed against the cage.
Sarian is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Phil pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Phil has Sarian pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sarian manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Phil drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Phil is stalling here.

Phil stops a takedown attempt from Sarian.
Phil is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Phil has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sarian uses from the top position.

Sarian gets to his feet - Phil follows without any prompting.
Sarian showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Phil.
Phil throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Phil throws a one two combo.
Sarian fails with the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Phil as Sarian shoots in.
No luck for Phil with that takedown attempt.
Phil is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Sarian or perhaps it was just good defense by Phil which made him look bad.

Sarian moves out of range of the body kick.

Phil darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sarian manages to get to full guard.
Phil stays in close to Sarian's body and controls the position.
Phil trying to control the position from guard on top but Sarian is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sarian bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Phil's guard.
Sarian passes Phil's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Phil is looking for a sweep. Sarian is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sarian thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Sarian is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sarian looking to control but Phil is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doctor Phil dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Robert Sarian's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sarian fails with the takedown.
A nice leg kick lands there from Phil.
Sarian shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phil but Phil pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sarian closes the distance but Phil moves to the side

and Phil counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sarian.
Phil can't get the takedown.
Sarian tries for a takedown but Phil manages to get underhooks.
Doctor Phil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Sarian.
Sarian has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Phil avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Phil tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sarian just stands there and leans against the cage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Phil goes for a takedown attempt but Sarian pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Phil motions for Sarian to come forward. Phil throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Sarian shoots for a takedown but Phil saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sarian tries to close the distance and clinch but Phil swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sarian throws a wild body kick that Phil sees coming a mile off.
Sarian throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Phil counters with a nice body kick.
Sarian closes this distance looking for a takedown but Phil circles away.

Phil gets a clinch.
Phil tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sarian tries to pull guard but Phil holds him up against the cage and eventually Sarian drops back down to his feet.
Sarian tries to break the clinch but Phil is controlling the position.

Sarian tries to pull guard but Phil won't allow it.
Phil jumps guard but Sarian stands there with Phil around his waist. Phil gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sarian swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Phil looking to stall.
Phil misses with a knee to the head.
Sarian wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Phil has him pressed against the cage.

Sarian throws a head kick but Phil moves out of range.
Phil fails with a takedown attempt.
Sarian dives in and grabs Phil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Phil pushes down on Sarian's head and hops out.

Sarian pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sarian shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phil but Phil pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sarian falls off balance throwing a combination
and Phil counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sarian shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Phil as he jumps to the side.
An inside leg kick from Phil misses.
Sarian shoots in for a double leg but Phil sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Phil throws a series of punches but Sarian avoids them all with ease.
Sarian fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Doctor Phil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sarian misses with a few strikes there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sarian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Phil misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sarian is looking to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sarian looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Sarian counters with a takedown into side control.
Phil throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Phil tries to bench press Sarian off him but Sarian keeps the position.
Phil on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Phil tries to get out of the position.

Sarian has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Phil is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sarian yanks on the arm and Phil is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sarian.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Robert Sarian!
