The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Quad is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kimaljdi sees it coming and defends easily.

Quad is trying to control the action in half guard but Kimaljdi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Quad seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kimaljdi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Quad is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kimaljdi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kimaljdi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
