PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gigantor Ubereem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Jayme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ubereem comes to the cage accompanied by Anubis. Keith Jayme told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crunch! Ubereem slams his shin into Jayme's torso.

Ubereem drives through and clinches with Jayme against the cage.

Ubereem gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jayme regains guard.

Ubereem is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jayme is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jayme has escaped and now he's on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ubereem is looking to sweep but instead, Jayme has passed into half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ubereem lands a shoulder strike.
Jayme prevents a takedown attempt there.
A short right from Ubereem on the inside.
Ubereem slowing the pace effectively.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Jayme is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ubereem.
Ubereem has Jayme pressed against the cage, preventing Jayme from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jayme is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ubereem is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jayme to the mat. Jayme regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Ubereem's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Jayme misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jayme pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ubereem back to the cage. Jayme follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Jayme is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ubereem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jayme uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ubereem.
Jayme lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jayme throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jayme looks to score with a jab to the body but Ubereem is just out of range.
Ubereem throws a head kick that misses.
Jayme lands a right hook to the body.
Jayme fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jayme scores with the left hand. Ubereem knows he should have avoided that one.

It looks like Gigantor Ubereem has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of Ubereem 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Jayme lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ubereem backs up against the cage.

Jayme fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ubereem on the side of the head.

Gigantor Ubereem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jayme feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ubereems jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jayme fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ubereem manages to avoid it.
Ubereem looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jayme is fending him off so far but Ubereem persists. Nope, Jayme circles away and we're back to standing.
Gigantor Ubereem is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Jayme scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Jayme avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Ubereem walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ubereem has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jayme finds it's way round the side to connect with Ubereem's head.
No joy there for Jayme, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
