Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Morihey Sako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruka Noga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruka Noga is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Morihey Sako!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ruka Noga!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sako darts in and clinches Noga up against the cage.

Sako breaks the clinch.

Sako moves into range and clinches up with Noga.
A frustrated look appears on Sako's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sako tries to pull guard but Noga won't allow it.
Sako takes an elbow to the temple.

Sako manages to pull guard.
Sako tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Noga wants to pass the guard but Sako is keeping the position.
Sako wants to stand and escape but Noga is having none of it.
Noga wants to stand and escape but instead Sako has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sako decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Noga, up you get!

Noga gets tackled into the cage by Sako. Sako maintains the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Noga just misses with a elbow thrown towards Sako's brow.

Sako pulls guard.
Sako is breathing heavily.
Sako is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Noga throws a big right hand that misses.
Noga scoring with punches to the head and body.
Sako preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Noga working some strikes from top position.
Noga looking to pass the guard.
Noga wants to control from the top but Sako keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Noga tries to free his leg and advance position but Sako is retaining full guard.
Sako working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Noga.
Noga scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Noga is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Noga looking to sit in guard and control but Sako gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Noga wants to sweep but no luck.
Sako won't allow Noga to get back to his feet.

Sako decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Noga, up you get!

Noga is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sako is keeping busy.
Noga tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Noga keeps control of Sako as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Noga is trying to stall.
Sako tries to pull guard but Noga holds him up against the cage and eventually Sako drops back down to his feet.
Sako has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Noga manages to break the clinch.
Noga misses with a wild combination.
Noga misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Sako gets a clinch.
Sako fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morihey Sako. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sako wants a takedown but no success here.
Noga with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Sako wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Noga has him pressed against the cage.
Noga is struggling to control the position.
Noga misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sako.

A close round but Ruka Noga will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Noga connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Noga misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sako misses with a double jab

and Noga counters by moving into the clinch.
Sako avoiding damage as Noga throws knees to the body.
Noga tries to land a knee to the head but Sako blocks with his arms.
Sako jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Noga walks away with a smile on his face. Sako gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A low kick from Sako is predictable there

and Noga counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Sako!


Sako is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Noga trying to control from half guard but Sako is working away.
Noga seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Noga lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Noga prevents Sako from improving his position.

Noga not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Noga tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Noga trying to pass the guard but Sako defending well.
Noga throwing shots but Sako is blocking nicely.
Noga throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Noga working over Sako with some ground and pound. Sako looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Noga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sako. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sako wants to get back to his feet.
Noga slips a nice elbow through Sako's hands, connecting with Sako's forehead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sako looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sako avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Noga.
Noga is looking to stall here but Sako recovers full guard.
Sako looking for a sweep. Not yet Sako, not yet.

Sako throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Sako is looking to stand up but Noga isn't so interested in that idea.
Noga connects with a couple of short punches.

Noga working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sako's head.
Sako wants to stand and escape but Noga is having none of it.
Noga stopping the sweep attempt from Sako.
Noga works over Sako with some ground and pound from guard.

Sako is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Noga defends well.
Sako avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Sako looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Noga passes into half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Noga wants to control but Sako is keeping him busy.
Sako tries to roll over but Noga keeps him under control.
Sako on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Noga is pressing down on Sako's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sako is holding on for now.
Sako is looking to improve his position.
Noga scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Noga prevents Sako from standing back up.
Sako wants to get back to full guard.

Ruka Noga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Noga counters with a big head kick but Sako shrugs it off.

Noga looking to throw knees to the head but Sako is blocking nicely.

Sako letting Noga take a breather here.
Sako wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Noga trying to control the position but instead, Sako has worked for underhooks and has pushed Noga into the cage.
Noga throws an elbow that misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sako tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Noga just stands there and leans against the cage.

Noga is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sako is defending well for now.

Sako misses with a short punch on the inside.
Sako is trying to force a seperation but Noga has the dominant position.

Sako has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Sako keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Noga's efforts to push away.
Sako blocks an elbow strike.
Noga is looking to control Sako's arms but Sako gets an underhook and turns him. Now Noga has his back to the cage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Noga wants to break free but Sako has control.
Sako trying to land knees to the body.
Sako tries to pull guard but Noga holds him up against the cage and eventually Sako drops back down to his feet.
Noga tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sako avoids it.
Noga is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Noga wants to stall.

Noga breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruka Noga seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Sako gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Noga to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Sako wants to get back to his feet but Noga is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sako throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Noga must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Noga keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sako's head.
Noga trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sako's guard.

Noga won't allow Sako to get back to his feet.
Ruka Noga is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Sako controls Noga momentarily but Noga frees himself.
Noga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sako swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sako is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Noga with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Noga lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sako backs up against the cage.

Noga gets tackled into the cage by Sako. Sako maintains the clinch.
Sako is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Noga pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Morihey Sako has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morihey Sako. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sako tries a knee to the head but Noga blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ruka Noga comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Noga has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
