Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pavel Katasonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Katasonov's entrance music is In Extremo - Wind. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost shoots in for a double leg but Katasonov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Frost takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Frost looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Katasonov is fending him off so far but Frost persists. Nope, Katasonov circles away and we're back to standing.

Frost throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Katasonov's waist but Katasonov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frost off to one side.

Frost closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Katasonov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Frost manages to avoid it.
Oooh a lovely combination from Katasonov sends Frost down but not out. Katasonov dives into side control looking to finish.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Pavel Katasonov just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Frost fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Katasonov misses with an uppercut. Frost saw that one coming.
Frost ducks right into an uppercut from Katasonov.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Katasonov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
