The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn throws a shot to the body.
Penn swinging wildly here.
Penn looks to throw the jab but Navarro is out of range.
Navarro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Penn throws out the jab.

Navarro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Navarro lands in his opponent's guard.

Navarro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Navarro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Penn controls Navarro momentarily but Navarro frees himself.
Penn wants to sweep but no luck.
Penn trying to keep a closed guard but Navarro is proving a slippery customer.
Penn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Navarro drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Navarro as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Penn screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Navarro! Nice submission victory there!
