PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Brun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anstey comes to the cage accompanied by DIME SI TE VAS CON EL. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Brun.
Corwin Anstey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brun misses with a two punch combination.
Brun lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Brun.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Brun scores with a one two! Anstey had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


Anstey is rocked!
Anstey stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Oh Anstey is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brun lands a nice looking body kick.
Anstey seems to have got his legs back now.
Anstey fails with the takedown.
Brun avoids the head kick by Anstey.
Brun tries a head kick but it misses.
Brun throws a head kick that misses.

Brun swats away the attempt to clinch by Anstey.
Anstey shoots in but no luck this time.
Anstey will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Anstey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brun tries to avoid it but Anstey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brun to the ground. Brun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Anstey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Brun attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Brun throws a head kick that misses.
Anstey wants to clinch but Brun slips to the side
and Brun counters with a head kick. That will keep Anstey thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

No joy there for Anstey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Who's going to make the next move?
You can see the frustration on Brun's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brun tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Anstey wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brun wants to control but Anstey postures up.

Anstey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brun as he avoids it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anstey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brun is working away from the top position though.

Anstey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brun swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brun has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anstey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

I would just about give that final round to Hank Brun.
