The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Benoit does no damage.
Hammet looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Benoit moves in looking to clinch but Hammet pushes him off.
Benoit pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Benoit avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hammet throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Benoit wants to clinch up but Hammet keeps it at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Benoit looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Benoit misses with a straight left.
Nice defenses there by Hammet.
Benoit tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hammet paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Benoit shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Benoit was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Benoit's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Benoit with shots to the head and body - Hammet looks very uncomfortable down there.

Benoit is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Hammet is forced to tap! Great finish!
