Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Valdemar Kosonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kosonen comes to the cage accompanied by Mad Sin - Burn and Rise . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Kosonen moves out of range easily.
Silva feints and then cracks Kosonen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kosonen down.

Silva tries to move into range but Kosonen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Kosonen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Silva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Silva's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kosonen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Silva scrambles back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Kosonen, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Kosonen against the cage but Kosonen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kosonen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kosonen off to one side.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kosonen wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kosonen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like Roger Silva has been cut.
Kosonen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Silva wants to control but Kosonen is having none of it.
