The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort throws a right hand that misses
and Dixon counters with a straight right hand.
Dixon misses with a series of wild punches.
Dixon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dixon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Belfort counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dixon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Belfort misses with the combination.
Belfort dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dixon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Belfort counters with a stiff right hand.
Belfort throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Belfort counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dixon thinking.
Dixon lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Belfort uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dixon.

and Belfort counters with a crisp one two that drops Dixon! Belfort thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dixon to his feet! Dixon is in big trouble!

Dixon throws a lazy uppercut
and Belfort makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Matthew Dixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belfort rushes Dixon with punches - Dixon moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Dixon goes down! Belfort follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
