Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ilkka Laitinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slim Shadie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laitinen comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadie misses with a left hand
and Laitinen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Shadie counters with a nice body shot.
Shadie throws a body punch but Laitinen moves out of range.
Shadie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Laitinen moves away.
Shadie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shadie scores with a hook to the body. Laitinen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Shadie counters with a slapping leg kick.
Laitinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Shadie is just out of range.

and Laitinen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Shadie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shadie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Laitinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shadie on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shadie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Laitinen's face.
Shadie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Laitinen is looking to escape.

Shadie has hold of Laitinen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Laitinen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Shadie wants to control the pace but Laitinen is squirming around nicely.

Shadie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Laitinen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Laitinen!
Shadie controls Laitinen momentarily but Laitinen frees himself.

Shadie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Laitinen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Shadie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shadie is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Laitinen can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The referee warns Laitinen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
