Roger comes to the cage accompanied by Jedi Mind Tricks - On the Eve of War (Instrumental). Sami Kolari has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Roger D Roger's chin.

With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sami Kolari!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roger throws a hook to the side of Kolari's head but Kolari sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Roger counters with a thumping low kick.

and Roger counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kolari uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Roger.
Kolari misses with a head kick.
Kolari slips under a jab from Roger.
A slow jab from Roger misses its intended target.
Roger cracks Kolari with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Roger scores with a jab.
Kolari avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Horrible takedown by Kolari or perhaps it was just good defense by Roger which made him look bad.
Roger feints a jab promting Kolari to slip. Roger then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kolari slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Sami Kolari has been cut.

enabling Roger to counter with a crisp jab.
Roger D Roger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Roger misses with an uppercut. Kolari saw that one coming.
Kolari ducks under a wild hook from Roger.
Kolari looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Roger is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

and Roger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kolari steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Roger.
Kolari is trying desperately to land a takedown but Roger is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Kolari.

Kolari changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Roger tries to avoid it but Kolari manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Roger to the ground. Roger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kolari lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roger circles away quickly and effectively.

Kolari throws the kick towards the body but Roger avoids it.

and Kolari counters with a good low kick that Roger was not able to check.
Roger on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Roger lands a nice hook to Kolari's body. Kolari takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kolari fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Roger.
Roger connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Roger paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and Kolari counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Roger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roger looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Roger looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kolari has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kolari drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kolari jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kolari is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Roger to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Roger shrugs it off.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roger D Roger will probably get the nod.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Roger throws an overhand right that lands on Kolari's shoulder, as Kolari tries to avoid the shot.

Roger is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roger manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roger seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Roger lands a nice short elbow.
Roger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kolari does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kolari takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kolari throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Roger escapes and throws Kolari's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Roger has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Kolari is working to get back to half guard.

Kolari defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Roger.
Roger lands a heavy elbow.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roger D Roger showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Roger, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
