Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Big Hurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Gorgy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gorgy is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nostalgia. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Big Hurt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maxim Gorgy!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorgy looking to land some kicks to the body here.
A combination from Gorgy does no damage.
Hurt misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gorgy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hurt.

and Gorgy counters with a good, hard body kick but Hurt shrugs it off.
Gorgy throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hurt's head.

Hurt decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Gorgy is looking for a triangle but Hurt pushes his legs off easily.

Gorgy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hurt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Big Hurt.

Hurt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gorgy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hurt is in Gorgy's guard.
Hurt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gorgy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gorgy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hurt's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gorgy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hurt is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Big Hurt.
Gorgy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gorgy throws a sloppy head kick and Hurt moves out of range easily.

Hurt shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gorgy is trying to defend but Hurt finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hurt tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gorgy controls his leg.
Hurt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gorgy on the ground.

Hurt seems to be working for a kimura but Gorgy defends the submission attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Big Hurt will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gorgy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Big Hurt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gorgy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hurt.
Left hook, right uppercut from Hurt.
Hurt pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hurt throws a series of strikes that have Gorgy backpedaling.

Hurt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hurt stays in close to Gorgy's body and controls the position.
Gorgy has a closed guard, preventing Hurt from standing up.
Hurt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Gorgy isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hurt stacks Gorgy on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hurt!

Hurt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gorgy sprawls well initially but Hurt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
