The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele misses with a takedown attempt
and Fists counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fists really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Steele shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fists counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mr Fists seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steele has his takedown stuffed
and Fists counters with a stiff right hand.
Mr Fists has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ninja Steele.

Steele tries to sprawl but Fists drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Steele tries to get to full guard but Fists has control of the leg.
Steele wants to sweep but Fists has passed to side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steele wants to control but Fists is keeping him busy.
Fists flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Fists is pressing down on Steele's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fists will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fists escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steele gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Steele stays in close to Fists's body and controls the position.

Steele got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fists has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steele has managed to get both his arms back between Fists's legs - danger averted.
Steele is looking to work some ground and pound but Fists has wrist control.

Fists looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Steele has picked Fists up and slammed him! Fists can't keep hold of the triangle and Steele manages to pass to side control!
Steele tries to score with some ground and pound. Fists controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Fists is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Steele has hold of Fists's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fists tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Steele cranks the arm and Fists screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fists, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
