PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Bisping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Silva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sandstorm. Bisping has chosen Lpd Three years in the making as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thor Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bisping shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bisping tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bisping moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bisping shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Silva is trying to stand up here but Bisping is controlling him well.
Bisping is trying to control the action in half guard but Silva is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bisping working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Silva's thigh. Silva counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Silva is looking to stand up but Bisping isn't so interested in that idea.

Bisping trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Silva is looking to stand up but Bisping won't let him.
Bisping controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Silva tries to stand but Bisping is controlling from the bottom.
Silva prevents Bisping from getting back to his feet.

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bisping looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A nice leg kick lands there from Silva.
Silva misses with a straight left.
Silva goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Silva throws a series of punches but Bisping avoids them all with ease.
Silva works over Bisping's head and body with a nice combination.
Bisping looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva connects with a right hand. Bisping shakes it off.
Silva lands a jab to the nose.
Silva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bisping showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silva.

and Bisping counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bisping.

Silva wants to stand but Bisping is controlling the position.
Silva being controlled here, momentarily.
Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Silva wriggles free and stands up.
Silva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bisping slips a jab from Silva.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bisping with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Silva to score with a decent uppercut.
Bisping checks the leg kick nicely there.
Silva lands a nice shot to the body.
Thor Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva connects with a crisp jab.
Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bisping.
The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bisping doesn't seem phased though.
Silva swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Bisping counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Bisping stops Silva from standing up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silva has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bisping off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Silva throws a right and a left that Bisping avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thor Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bisping circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick

and Bisping counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that.
Silva tries to escape but Bisping is in control.
Bisping is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Bisping might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Silva kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A lull in the action here as Bisping stalls from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Michael Bisping.

and Silva counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bisping is breathing heavily.
Silva misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bisping shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fighters circle momentarily. Silva darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Bisping has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bisping there as he acknowledges the shot.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Bisping bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silva thumps Bisping with a low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva scoring well with a low kick there.
Bisping takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A lazy left from Silva finds it's target.
Thor Silva is winning the standup battle so far.
Nice cross by Silva.
Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva connects with a leg kick. Bisping looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Silva drops Bisping with a beautiful combination! Bisping stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Silva is looking for the KO!

Bisping is rocked!
Bisping looks up at the clock. Bad move! Silva lands a right hand from hell, dropping Bisping. Silva pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
