PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Axel Raze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abubakar Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raze comes into the arena with Scream Aim Fire - Bullet For My Valentine blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Solomon gets a takedown into half guard.

Solomon is working for a submission of some sort.

Raze kicks Solomon off and gets back to his feet.
Raze tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Solomon was well out of range. Poor timing from Raze.
Solomon has a takedown stuffed.
Solomon takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Solomon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Raze tries to escape but Solomon is in control.

Raze prevents Solomon from moving into mount.
Raze parries the strikes from Solomon easily there. Solomon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Raze to escape.
Solomon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Raze takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Raze regains half guard, as Solomon was trying to land strikes.

Raze regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Solomon.
Solomon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Raze wants to stand up but Solomon is controlling him.
Raze utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Solomon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Solomon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Solomon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Raze works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Solomon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Raze swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Solomon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Solomon chips away with some ground and pound.
Solomon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Solomon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Solomon throws a big right hand that misses.
Solomon stands up over Raze, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Solomon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Solomon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Solomon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Oh Raze is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Solomon has hold of Raze's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Raze manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
