The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calil gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hugo to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Calil looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hugo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Hugo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Calil, up you get!

Hugo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Calil tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hugo is in Calil's guard.

Hugo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Calil for as long as he can get away with.

Hugo decides to stand back up. Hugo steps back and let's Calil get back to his feet.

Hugo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Calil escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hugo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
