The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bennett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Bennett gets to his feet - Jackson follows without any prompting.

Bennett tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bennett on the ground.
Bennett not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jackson is working an open guard so Bennett takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Stu Bennett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Bennett feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Bennett changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bennett has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jackson uses from the top position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bennett cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position.
Jackson is in a horrible position here. Bennett smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bennett tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stu Bennett dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Bennett looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bennett takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

It looks like Jaafar Jackson has been cut.
Bennett has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bennett content just to control the position here.
