PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrey Fokin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haya Razanadahy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrey Fokin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Haya Razanadahy!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fokin darts in trying to clinch
and Razanadahy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Razanadahy moves into the clinch.
Fokin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Razanadahy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Razanadahy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Razanadahy lands in his opponent's guard.

Fokin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Razanadahy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Razanadahy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Razanadahy stands up from Fokin's guard - Razanadahy perhaps looking for a knockout.

Razanadahy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fokin, pushing him back against the cage.
Fokin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Razanadahy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Razanadahy content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Razanadahy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Razanadahy counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrey Fokin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Razanadahy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fokin moves to clinch but Razanadahy breaks away

and Razanadahy counters by clinching up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Razanadahy lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fokin tries for a takedown. No joy.

Razanadahy breaks the clinch.
Fokin misses with a double jab.

Razanadahy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Razanadahy wants to control but Fokin is keeping him busy.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Razanadahy stands up and beckons Fokin to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Razanadahy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fokin shoots for a takedown but Razanadahy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fokin shoots in but no luck this time.
Fokin is breathing heavily.

Razanadahy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fokin!
Razanadahy looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Fokin is squirming around, avoiding Razanadahy's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fokin tries to reverse the position but Razanadahy maintains control.

Fokin avoids a series of strikes thrown by Razanadahy.
Razanadahy avoids the attempt from Fokin to control.
Razanadahy throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Razanadahy has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Fokin's face.
Fokin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fokin working to try and regain half guard.
Razanadahy avoids the attempt from Fokin to control.
Fokin in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fokin wants to control but Razanadahy is having none of it.
Fokin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fokin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fokin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Fokin tries to lock up and control but Razanadahy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fokin is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fokin wants to hold on but Razanadahy pushes him away.
Razanadahy lands a big shot there that rocks Fokin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Razanadahy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fokin is looking to escape.
Fokin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Razanadahy postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fokin looks a forlorn figure.

Razanadahy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fokin is on top in guard.

Fokin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fokin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Razanadahy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fokin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fokin drops back looking for a leg! Razanadahy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Razanadahy manages to kick Fokin off! Fokin jumps back into Razanadahy's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Razanadahy wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Haya Razanadahy dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Fokin is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Razanadahy hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Andrey Fokin!
