Hendricks comes to the cage accompanied by National anthem of South Africa. Gazza has chosen National Anthem of Italy as his entrance music. Ricardo Hendricks has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Hendricks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Hendricks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hendricks swings for the body but Gazza moves out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hendricks throws a lazy right hand but Gazza sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gazza shoots in looking for a takedown but Hendricks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gazza's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gazza looks to land a combination but Hendricks avoids it well.

and Hendricks counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hendricks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gazza is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hendricks catches Gazza with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The crowd cheers as Hendricks lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gazza doesn't seem phased though.

Gazza shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hendricks as he avoids it easily.

Hendricks cracks Gazza with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hendricks works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Hendricks wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hendricks clobbers Gazza with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Hendricks cracks Gazza with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hendricks has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Gazza to stand back up!

Gazza looks up at the clock. Bad move! Hendricks lands a right hand from hell, dropping Gazza. Hendricks pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
