Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jjang Shin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuba Majewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuba Majewski is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jjang Shin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuba Majewski!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shin tries to keep at a distance but Majewski has taken the fight into the clinch.

Majewski pulls guard successfully.
Shin won't allow Majewski to sweep him here.
Shin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Shin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Majewski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shin has Majewski in his guard.
Majewski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shin throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Majewski stands up from Shin's guard - Majewski perhaps looking for a knockout.
Majewski on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Shin blocks the body kick.
Majewski misses with a body punch

and Shin counters with a shoot takedown. Majewski fights it but they end up in guard.

Shin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Shin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Majewski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shin has Majewski in his guard.

Majewski gets to his feet. Shin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

It looks like Jjang Shin has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Majewski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Majewski takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Shin moves out of range as Majewski throws a body kick.
Majewski misses with a body kick.
Majewski throws a right hand that misses
and Shin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kuba Majewski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Majewski pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shin with a poor takedown

so Majewski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Shin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Majewski controls the pace.

Majewski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shin!

I wouldn't like to be where Majewski is right now.
Shin trying to control the position but Majewski is working away.
Majewski keeps Shin under control for a moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Majewski has escaped the position, nice work there.
Majewski trying to control but Shin flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Majewski tries to clinch but Shin is having none of it.
Shin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Majewski throws a head kick but Shin moves out of range.
Shin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Majewski counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shin's guard now.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Shin has his foot on Majewski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Majewski works his way back into a safe position though.

Majewski is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shin has escaped and now he's on top!

Shin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Majewski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shin, into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Majewski gets to his feet - Shin follows without any prompting.
Majewski looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Majewski pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Majewski throws a combination that misses

and Shin counters with a takedown into side control.

Shin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Majewski knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shin thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Majewski to regain full guard.

Majewski is looking to take a break and control but Shin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Majewski stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kuba Majewski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Shin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Majewski throws a leg kick but Shin checks it.
Majewski lands with a kick to the ribs.
Majewski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Majewski throws a push kick but Shin slaps the foot to one side.

Majewski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Majewski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Majewski looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Majewski is standing up, even though he is in mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Majewski pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Majewski misses with a wild combination.
Majewski throws a sloppy head kick and Shin moves out of range easily.

and Majewski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Majewski wants to control but Shin is keeping him busy.

Shin is defending against the submission attempts here by Majewski.
Majewski seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kuba Majewski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Still in half guard, Majewski seems content to control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kuba Majewski was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Shin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shin just misses with a punch to the body.
Majewski throws an off balance right hand

and Shin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Majewski is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Shin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Majewski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Majewski has escaped and now he's on top!
Jjang Shin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kuba Majewski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Majewski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
