PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ozzy Osbourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zolloo Loam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Osbourne comes to the cage accompanied by Ozzy Osboune-Crazy Train. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ozzy Osbourne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zolloo Loam!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osbourne shoots in for a double leg but Loam sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Osbourne closes the distance and clinches up with Loam, looking for a takedown. Osbourne pushes Loam against the cage but Loam circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Loam gets a clinch.

Loam gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Loam has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Osbourne is wriggling around trying to escape.
Loam should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Loam looking to control and managing it successfully.

Loam moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Osbourne has worked his arm free - good work by Osbourne!

Loam is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Osbourne has escaped the position, nice work there.

Loam stands up and we're back to a striking position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Loam enables Osbourne to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Loam manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Osbourne drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Loam manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Osbourne has Loam in his guard.
Loam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Osbourne swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Osbourne can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Loam controls the pace.
Loam must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Loam got a little sloppy there for a moment and Osbourne has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Loam has managed to get both his arms back between Osbourne's legs - danger averted.
Osbourne throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Osbourne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Loam can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Loam stays in close to Osbourne's body and controls the position.

Osbourne is working an open guard so Loam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Osbourne shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Loam's guard.

Osbourne is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Loam manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Osbourne manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zolloo Loam dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Horrible takedown by Osbourne or perhaps it was just good defense by Loam which made him look bad.

Osbourne tries to sprawl but Loam drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Loam decides to stand up.

Loam clinches with his opponent.
Loam stalls.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Loam.

Loam jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Osbourne walks away with a smile on his face. Loam gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Loam is breathing heavily.
Loam tries to bum rush Osbourne with a series of wild strikes but Osbourne uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Loam pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zolloo Loam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Osbourne misses with a takedown attempt

and Loam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Osbourne had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Loam defends it easily.
Loam keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Osbourne's head.
Osbourne really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Loam makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Osbourne looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Loam is stalling in the full guard.
Loam trying to control the position from guard on top but Osbourne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Loam with a flurry of punches that miss.
Osbourne keeping moving, preventing Loam from controlling successfully.

Osbourne has his foot on Loam's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Loam works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Loam postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Loam is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Zolloo Loam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Loam counters with a shoot takedown. Osbourne fights it but they end up in guard.
Loam sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Loam with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Loam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Osbourne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Osbourne is working an open guard so Loam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Osbourne closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Loam quickly recovers to half guard.
Loam wants to improve his position but Osbourne is controlling well.
Osbourne not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Osbourne is looking for a kimura but Loam is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Osbourne to get the leverage.

Osbourne is trying to control. Loam wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Loam is not content to let Osbourne control the position.
Osbourne tries to advance position but instead Loam slips a leg back in to half guard.
Loam won't allow Osbourne to pass to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zolloo Loam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Loam has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
