The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Labonte closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gruber circles away.
Labonte changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gruber tries to avoid it but Labonte manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gruber to the ground. Gruber escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gruber shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Labonte as he jumps to the side.

Gruber bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Gruber has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Gruber has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
