The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
AK throws a sloppy head kick
and Mailov counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Sergei AK has been cut.
AK tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mailov swivels and escapes.
AK has his takedown stuffed
and Mailov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
AK fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergei AK. That's going to take a lot out of him.
AK closes the distance and clinches up with Mailov, looking for a takedown. AK pushes Mailov against the cage but Mailov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
AK misses with a shot to the body
and Mailov counters with a stiff right hand.
AK lands a really nice looking cross but Mailov seems unphased.
AK fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Mailov connects with a right hand. AK shakes it off.
Mailov connects with a body shot that sends AK's belly button to the back.
Nice sprawl there from Mailov as AK shoots in.
AK throws a sloppy head kick and Mailov moves out of range easily.
Mailov is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Mailov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from AK.

and Mailov makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
AK throws a jab but it's blocked by Mailov.

and Mailov counters with a leg kick.
AK is breathing heavily.
Mailov jabs AK right on the nose. AK blinks but takes it well.
Decent striking displayed by Mailov there.
Mailov digs a good hook to AK's body.

AK takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mailov connects with a body shot that sends AK's belly button to the back.
AK on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Mailov works the jab nicely.

Mailov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between AK's hands.
Oh AK is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and AK takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Mailov has cracked AK with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Mailov lands another huge swinging hook and AK tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save AK, before Mailov can land any more shots!
