The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferies shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jefferies scores with a hook to the body. Silva takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Silva feints and as Jefferies raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jefferies is really struggling to control Silva but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Jefferies passes Silva's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jefferies seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Silva is trying to maintain the position but Jefferies is very close to passing his half guard.

Silva isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jefferies stacks Silva on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jefferies!

Silva is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jefferies off and has taken his back!

Jefferies defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Silva's arms.
Silva doesn't have the hooks in and Jefferies manages to turn into his guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Silva has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Jefferies defend it? Silva steps over the head and cranks it - Jefferies is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Silva!
