Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Goldberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Erich Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gabriel is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Goldberg is surviving well by controlling Gabriel's body position as best he can.

Gabriel is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Goldberg has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Gabriel looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Goldberg is trying desperately to improve position.
Goldberg wants to hold on but Gabriel pushes him away.

Gabriel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Goldberg is looking to escape.

Gabriel is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Goldberg to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Goldberg shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gabriel is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Goldberg can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gabriel cracks Goldberg with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel moves into range and clinches up with Goldberg.

Gabriel pulls guard successfully.
Gabriel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Goldberg manages to get himself to full guard.
Gabriel stays in close to Goldberg's body and controls the position.
Let's hope that Gabriel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Gabriel has gone for a leg lock! Goldberg slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gabriel's guard.
Goldberg throws and elbow that misses. Gabriel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goldberg's guard. Nice move by Gabriel!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goldberg is trying to control the position but Gabriel postures up.

Gabriel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gabriel lands a couple of digs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Goldberg utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Goldberg wriggles free and stands up.

No joy there for Goldberg, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gabriel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Goldberg looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Gabriel! Submission of the night perhaps?
