PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cathal Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wright comes into the arena with D-12 - Fight Music blaring out of the sound system. Patrick Bateman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Patrick Bateman!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright rushes Bateman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wright lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bateman backwards.
Bateman tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Wright throws a knee to the head but misses.
Nice body punch from Wright.

Wright pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Wright feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wright is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bateman has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Wright is looking to defend but Bateman has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Wright! Bateman pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Wright taps out and this one is all over!
