Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Kross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karumoka Warakasa!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kross misses with a head kick.
Kross throws a sloppy head kick
and Warakasa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Warakasa gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Warakasa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Warakasa misses with a hook. Kross ducked under it nicely.
Warakasa looks to land a combination but Kross avoids it well.
Kross fails to land with a series of punches.
Kross lands a head kick!
Kross throws a sloppy head kick and Warakasa moves out of range easily.
Kross ducks under a wild hook from Warakasa.
Warakasa moves into range and clinches up with Kross.
Kross tries to pull guard but Warakasa won't allow it.
Warakasa's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kross pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kross tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Warakasa scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kross is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Warakasa asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Kross is breathing heavily.
Warakasa scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kross is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Warakasa can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karumoka Warakasa!
