Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Disis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alikai Drustav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Disis comes to the cage accompanied by Polly Jean Harvey - Angry Johnny. Johnny Disis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Disis shoots in but Drustav avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Drustav misses the shot to the body.
Drustav rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Disis counters with a series of strikes. Drustav will be more careful next time no doubt.
Disis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Disis is taking a breather. Drustav says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Disis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Disis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drustav swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Drustav throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Disis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Disis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Disis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Drustav is looking to regain half guard here but Disis keeps moving and retains side control.

Drustav is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Disis is putting a hurting on Drustav here, landing some big shots from side control.
Drustav tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Disis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Disis is trying to get an arm triangle but Drustav is defending well.
I wouldn't like to be where Drustav is right now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Disis walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
No joy there for Disis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Disis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Drustav.
Disis takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A combination from Disis does no damage.
Disis throws a low kick but Drustav avoids it.
Jab, jab by Drustav - just one landing.
Nice sprawl there from Drustav as Disis shoots in.
Drustav misses with a hook. Disis ducked under it nicely.

Drustav looks to land a combination. Disis sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

so Disis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Drustav is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Drustav wants to sweep here but Disis controlling him for the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alikai Drustav was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Drustav with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Disis to score with a decent uppercut.

Alikai Drustav showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Disis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Disis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Drustav manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Disis has Drustav in his guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Drustav seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Disis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Drustav has control of Disis's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Disis regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Drustav goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Disis turns into him and now he's in Drustav's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johnny Disis.
I think Disis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
