PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Muikku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Dusavik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Muikku might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Michael Jackson - Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dusavik pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dusavik scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Dusavik swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Muikku on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Muikku could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dusavik darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dusavik ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Henry Dusavik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dusavik misses with a looping right.
Muikku misses with a few strikes there.
Dusavik cracks Muikku with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Muikku shoots in for a takedown but Dusavik shows good takedown defense.
A swing and a miss from Dusavik.
Dusavik missing with a left hand there. Muikku was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Muikku takes a swing at Dusavik's ribcage but misses.

Dusavik gets caught flat footed, as Muikku shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Muikku might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dusavik is trying to control the position but Muikku postures up.

Dusavik escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Muikku gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dusavik has his foot on Muikku's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Muikku works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dusavik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Muikku can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dusavik drops back looking for a leg! Muikku is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Muikku manages to kick Dusavik off! Dusavik jumps back into Muikku's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dusavik tries to free his leg and advance position but Muikku is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
A jab lands there for Dusavik.
Dusavik punishes Muikku's body with a nice straight punch.
No luck for Dusavik with that takedown attempt.
Dusavik cracks Muikku with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Dusavik lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Dusavik dodges the punch combination from Muikku.
Dusavik connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Dusavik dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Muikku is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Muikku has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Muikku there as he acknowledges the shot.

Muikku is trying to stall.
Dusavik is trying to break the clinch but Muikku has him pressed against the cage.

Dusavik wants to get back to striking at distance but Muikku won't allow it.
Muikku pushes off an throws an elbow but Dusavik leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Dusavik bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Muikku throws a head kick but Dusavik moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dusavik darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Dusavik throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dusavik slips a straight right by Muikku.

Muikku misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Muikku misses with a double jab
and Dusavik counters with a nice kick to the body.
Dusavik lands a lovely overhand right.
Dusavik lands with a nice combination. Muikku backs away looking to recover.

Dusavik moves into the clinch successfully.
Muikku keeps control of Dusavik as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Dusavik wants to break the clinch but can't.
Dusavik is looking to break free of the clinch but Muikku has double underhooks.
Dusavik wants to get back to striking at distance but Muikku won't allow it.

and Muikku counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dusavik lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Muikku throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Muikku avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dusavik seems to be stalking Muikku here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Muikku drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
