Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dmitriy Kosarev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexander Frai!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frai closes the distance but Kosarev moves to the side

and Kosarev counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ground and pound from Kosarev.
Kosarev works his way into side control.

Kosarev has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Frai tries to clinch but Kosarev moves away

and Kosarev counters with a nice double leg into side control. Frai won't be happy with that.
Frai looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Frai seems a little lost for a moment, as Kosarev dominates the positioning.

Kosarev stands up and beckons Frai to his feet.
Frai avoids a punch combination nicely.

Kosarev closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Frai quickly recovers to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kosarev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kosarev uses his free foot to push down on Frai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Frai.

Kosarev stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Kosarev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kosarev moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kosarev has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Frai gets caught flat footed, as Kosarev shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kosarev passes Frai's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kosarev with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Kosarev postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Frai to stand up.

Kosarev shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Frai napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A lull in the action here as Kosarev stalls from top position.

Kosarev decides to stand back up. Kosarev steps back and let's Frai get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Frai throws a sloppy body shot

and Kosarev counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kosarev is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kosarev looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kosarev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Frai's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Frai can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kosarev maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Frai could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kosarev has cracked it and Frai is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kosarev!
