Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mirko Ardona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sebastian Stelter!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ardona throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stelter.
Ardona tries to bum rush Stelter with a series of wild strikes but Stelter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stelter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ardona rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Stelter counters with a head kick.

and Ardona counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Stelter looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ardona paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Stelter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ardona stuffs the takedown attempt from Stelter. Stelter gets slowly back to his feet.

and Stelter counters with a left to the body.
Stelter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ardona accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ardona stalling away here and it's allowed Stelter to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Stelter is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ardona knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stelter on the ground.

Stelter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ardona gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ardona controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Mirko Ardona just wasn't active enough.
Stelter throws a low kick but Ardona avoids it.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Ardona throws a combination. Stelter tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ardona throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Stelter counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ardona is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Stelter wants to clinch
and Ardona counters with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stelter shoots in looking for a takedown. Ardona tries to sprawl out of it but Stelter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ardona manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stelter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ardona.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sebastian Stelter dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stelter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Ardona counters with a crisp one two that drops Stelter! Ardona thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Stelter to his feet! Stelter is in big trouble!

Stelter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ardona circles away.
Stelter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ardona looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ardona can't do much from the bottom here.
Ardona pushes Stelter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Stelter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ardona is trying to get back to half guard.
Ardona is trying to control Stelter's posture but Stelter avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Stelter is looking to take a break and control but Ardona is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ardona scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ardona lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Stelter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Stelter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Good leg kick by Stelter there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
