PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zeiasu Kenpachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikola Lebedev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zeiasu Kenpachi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikola Lebedev!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenpachi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lebedev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lebedev throws a right and a left that Kenpachi avoids nicely.
Kenpachi tries for a takedown but Lebedev circles away easily
and Lebedev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kenpachi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lebedev counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kenpachi!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zeiasu Kenpachi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kenpachi is trying desperately to improve position.
Kenpachi manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Lebedev stalling.
Kenpachi wants to get back to full guard.

Lebedev not doing much here.
Lebedev tries to pass to full mount but Kenpachi defends it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mikola Lebedev.
Lebedev throws a right and a left that both miss.

Lebedev pushes Kenpachi up against the cage in a clinch.

Lebedev lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lebedev keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kenpachi's efforts to push away.

Lebedev has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kenpachi clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kenpachi tries to escape the position.

Lebedev is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Kenpachi is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Lebedev controlling the positon.
Kenpachi manages to reverse the position and now he's in Lebedev's guard. Nice work there by Kenpachi.

Kenpachi stopping the sweep attempt from Lebedev.
Kenpachi trying to control the position from guard on top but Lebedev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kenpachi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kenpachi postures up in Lebedev's guard and throws a big left but Lebedev blocks it.
Lebedev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kenpachi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kenpachi wants to stand and escape but instead Lebedev has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kenpachi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lebedev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lebedev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lebedev controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lebedev wants to pass the guard but Kenpachi is keeping the position.
Lebedev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lebedev looks gassed!
Kenpachi wants to stand and escape but Lebedev is having none of it.
Lebedev won't allow Kenpachi to sweep him here.

Kenpachi is looking for a triangle but Lebedev pushes his legs off easily.
Kenpachi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lebedev controls the pace.
Kenpachi lands some strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mikola Lebedev dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kenpachi shoots and misses

and Lebedev decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kenpachi's guard.

Kenpachi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lebedev advances to half guard.

Kenpachi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lebedev pulls his head out easily.
Kenpachi is trying to stand back up but Lebedev is controlling him
Lebedev wants to pass to mount but Kenpachi is defending the position.
Mikola Lebedev has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lebedev controlling the action here.
Kenpachi is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lebedev works his way into full mount!
Lebedev is looking to work his way around to Kenpachi's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Lebedev controlling the position easily from mount.

Lebedev goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kenpachi turns into him and now he's in Lebedev's guard.
Kenpachi wants to stand but Lebedev has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kenpachi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Lebedev is not content to let Kenpachi control the position.
Kenpachi laying and praying for a moment but Lebedev takes advantage and regains half guard.

Kenpachi working Lebedev over with strikes.
Kenpachi wants to control but Lebedev is keeping him busy.
Lebedev is trying to get back to full guard.
Lebedev is refusing to be controlled, as Kenpachi sits in half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kenpachi is trying to control. Lebedev wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Zeiasu Kenpachi.
Kenpachi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lebedev keeps the fight on the outside.
Kenpachi shoots in and drives through. Lebedev sprawls well.
Kenpachi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lebedev counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zeiasu Kenpachi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lebedev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kenpachi keeps working.
Kenpachi gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mikola Lebedev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Kenpachi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Kenpachi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lebedev but Lebedev pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Lebedev counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kenpachi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lebedev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kenpachi is tightening it up a little... Lebedev has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lebedev reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lebedev taps out! nice BJJ there by Kenpachi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Zeiasu Kenpachi!
