PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kennedy's choice of entrance music: The Fall of Troy - F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kennedy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Kennedy is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Santos can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kennedy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Kennedy is working for a guillotine from mount but Santos frees his head quite easily.

Kennedy has hold of Santos's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Santos manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Santos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kennedy on the ground.
Kennedy controlling the pace for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kennedy mounts Santos! Really nice guard pass there!
Santos is trying to stand but he's just given Kennedy his back.
Kennedy trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Santos doesn't escape.

Santos is trying to defend against the choke here but Kennedy has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Kennedy Tightens the hold and Santos taps out furiously! Kennedy displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
