And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Koa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Koa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Koa throws a strike but Johnson avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koa sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Koa trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Koa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Johnson controls Koa momentarily but Koa frees himself.
Koa tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Koa from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Makua Koa wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Koa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Koa.
Koa tries to clinch but Johnson moves away
and Johnson counters with a leg kick.
Johnson looks to land a combination. Koa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Koa shoots in but no luck this time.
Koa swings widly with a right hand
and Johnson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Johnson looks to land a combination but Koa avoids it well.
Johnson throws a right and a left that Koa avoids nicely.
Koa tries to clinch but Johnson moves away
and Johnson counters with an outside leg kick.
Koa misses with a combination
and Johnson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Koa is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson throws a combination. Koa tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Koa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Johnson connects with a combination that backs up Koa into the cage. Johnson lands a flurry of punches that gets past Koa's guard. Koa is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Johnson bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
