PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Baeumer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Baeumer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Bush!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baeumer misses with a wild combination.
Bush uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Baeumer.
Bush throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Baeumer's waist but Baeumer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bush off to one side.

Bush clinches with his opponent.
Baeumer wants to break free but Bush has control.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Baeumer.

Bush pulls guard successfully.
Baeumer trying to control the position from guard on top but Bush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bush bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Baeumer's guard.

Baeumer pulls Bush in close to prevent any damage.

Bush stands up and waves to Baeumer to follow him.

Bush struggles to land a body shot inside as Baeumer controls his hands.

Bush manages to break the clinch.
Bush fails with the takedown.
Baeumer tries to bum rush Bush with a series of wild strikes but Bush uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Baeumer throws a series of punches but Bush avoids them all with ease.
Paul Baeumer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Bush counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bush wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baeumer keeps working.
Baeumer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bush on the ground.
Bush tries to pass the half guard into mount. Baeumer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Bush is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Baeumer has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bush is pressing down on Baeumer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Baeumer is holding on for now.
Bush is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bush is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bush shoots in looking for a takedown. Baeumer tries to sprawl out of it but Bush keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baeumer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bush feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baeumer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Baeumer wants to get back to his feet but Bush is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bush stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Bush goes for a takedown in the clinch but Baeumer prevents it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Bush tries to pull guard but Baeumer won't allow it.
Paul Baeumer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Bush.

A short uppercut from Baeumer.
Bush tries to pull guard but Baeumer holds him up against the cage and eventually Bush drops back down to his feet.
Baeumer has had enough of the clinch but Bush keeps him there for the moment.

Baeumer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Bush decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Baeumer's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Baeumer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bush drops back looking for a leg! Baeumer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Baeumer manages to kick Bush off! Bush jumps back into Baeumer's guard.

Eric Bush has got the better of the ground game so far.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Eric Bush showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

I would just about give that final round to Eric Bush.
I've got Bush winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
