And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riuguis tries to score with a low kick but L aspinatour moves his leg out of the way.
L aspinatour tries for a takedown but Riuguis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

L aspinatour decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

L aspinatour is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Riuguis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time L aspinatour.

L aspinatour drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Riuguis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now L aspinatour has Riuguis in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matt Riuguis.

L aspinatour cracks Riuguis with an uppercut from hell and Riuguis crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of L aspinatour's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

It looks like Matt Riuguis has been cut.

L aspinatour throws and elbow that misses. Riuguis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in L aspinatour's guard. Nice move by Riuguis!
Riuguis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
L aspinatour is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. L aspinatour connects with a nice short shot to Riuguis's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

L aspinatour uses his free foot to push down on Riuguis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Riuguis.
