The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins defending well as Pierre loads up on a big left hand.

Jenkins has his foot on Pierre's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pierre works his way back into a safe position though.

Pierre throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Jenkins.
Jenkins closes the distance and clinches up with Pierre, looking for a takedown. Jenkins pushes Pierre against the cage but Pierre circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jenkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pierre's waist but Pierre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jenkins off to one side.
Jenkins doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
