Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez shoots in but Armstrong avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Armstrong ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Marquez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Junior Marquez has been cut.
Armstrong defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marquez.
Armstrong fails to land with a series of punches.
Armstrong tries to bum rush Marquez with a series of wild strikes but Marquez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice cross by Armstrong.
John Armstrong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marquez is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Armstrong misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Marquez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Armstrong manages to avoid the submission attempt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Armstrong can do anything to dispel that myth.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Marquez creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Armstrong sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Marquez prevents Armstrong from escaping the position.
Armstrong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Armstrong is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Marquez is controlling him well.
Marquez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Armstrong will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Junior Marquez's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Marquez dodges the punch combination from Armstrong.
Marquez shoots for a takedown but Armstrong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marquez fails with the takedown.
Marquez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Armstrong throws a series of punches but Marquez moves out of range.
Armstrong stuffs the takedown attempt from Marquez. Marquez gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Marquez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marquez slips a jab and a cross from Armstrong.
Marquez takes a jab right on the kisser.


Junior Marquez's cut is getting worse.
Armstrong misses with the combination.
Armstrong feints a jab promting Marquez to slip. Armstrong then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Marquez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Armstrong scores with a shot to the body.
Armstrong throws a right and a left that both miss.
Armstrong goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Armstrong throws a right and a left that Marquez avoids nicely.
Marquez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.


Junior Marquez's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Armstrong. Those never looked like landing.
Armstrong fails to land with a series of punches.
Armstrong lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Armstrong swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Marquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Armstrong drops Marquez with a beautiful combination! Marquez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Armstrong is looking for the KO!


Marquez is rocked!


Jeez, Junior Marquez's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Junior Marquez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). John Armstrong!
