PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demyan Arkhipov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arkhipov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Vitas - The Star. Brown is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by we will rock you. Jordan Brown is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Arkhipov as he avoids it easily.
Brown shoots in for a double leg but Arkhipov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Demyan Arkhipov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Brown.
Arkhipov throws a combination. Brown tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Jordan Brown has been cut.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Arkhipov.
Arkhipov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Arkhipov tries to score a body lock takedown but Brown shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Arkhipov has picked Brown up - he's going for a ride! Arkhipov dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Brown is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Arkhipov scores with a couple of nice shots.

Arkhipov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brown knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Arkhipov drives through and clinches with Brown against the cage.
Brown drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Arkhipov gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Arkhipov has Brown pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Arkhipov pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Brown tumbling to the mat - Arkhipov dives into Brown's guard.

Brown manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brown looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Arkhipov defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Brown.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Arkhipov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Arkhipov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Arkhipov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brown's head.

Brown is looking for a triangle but Arkhipov pushes his legs off easily.
Arkhipov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brown's guard.
Arkhipov is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Brown!

Brown is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Arkhipov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Arkhipov's back!
Arkhipov is covering up but some of the strikes from Brown are getting through and doing damage.
Arkhipov tries to escape but Brown has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Arkhipov rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Brown frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Brown has control of Arkhipov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Arkhipov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Brown has hold of Arkhipov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Arkhipov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Arkhipov wants to control but Brown is having none of it.

Brown jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Arkhipov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Arkhipov and Brown has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Arkhipov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Brown is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brown is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Brown wants to improve his position but Arkhipov is controlling well.
Arkhipov slips a nice elbow through Brown's hands, connecting with Brown's forehead.
Brown is trying to get back to full guard.
Arkhipov wants to take a breather but Brown is having none of it.
Brown has hold of Arkhipov's hands but Arkhipov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Arkhipov is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Brown has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Arkhipov is looking to defend but Brown has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Arkhipov! Brown pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Arkhipov taps out and this one is all over!
