Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Bond!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bond scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The strikes coming from Bond are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Wood on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wood tries to get out of the position.

Bond wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wood, who protects the arm well.
A lull in the action here as Bond stalls from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wood tries to buck Bond off but Bond is having none of it.
Wood regains half guard there - taking advantage of Bond's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Bond trying to control the action but Wood is working from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bond is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jay Bond was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Wood misses with a takedown

and Bond counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Bond tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wood knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Well, if Bond is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Wood tries to roll over but Bond keeps him under control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Wood is looking to improve his position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Bond counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bond tries to free his leg and advance position but Wood is retaining full guard.

Wood wants to control from the top but Bond keeps moving.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wood accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wood wants to control from the top but Bond keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

so Wood counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jay Bond has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bond is breathing heavily.

Bond working for submissions but it's allowed Wood to get to half guard.
Bond has hold of Wood's hands but Wood slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Wood looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bond with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wood wants to free his trapped foot but Bond is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bond gets back to full guard.
Wood works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Still in half guard, Wood seems content to control.

Bond moves into range and clinches up with Wood.
Wood has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bond is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bond connects with a couple of short punches.
Bond wants to control from the top but Wood keeps moving.

Jay Bond has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bond is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Wood.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wood enables Bond to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wood manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wood lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bond!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lewis Wood.
I think Wood has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
